 Undertakings for smooth running of local and foreign passengers at Yangon International Airport

1. The following works has been carried out
(a) extension of Airport Inspection Counters

(i) The number of Overseas Arrival counters has been extended to 21 from 18 on 17.9.2012

(ii) The number of Overseas Departure counters has been extended to 16 from 10 on 24.11.2011

(b) Issue of Visa on Arrival
Visa-on-Arrival at Yangon International Airport was issued to passengers from 27 countries on 1.6.2012 and extended to another 22 countries on 1.2.2013 and Nepal on 18.3.2013, totaling 50 countries.

(c) General relaxations

(i) relaxation on Form-D requirements on 15.3.2013

(ii) start using arrival/departure rubber stamps as automatic-dated ink system on 1.4.2013

(iii) giving training to inspection staff

(iv) Thanks to the above-mentioned points, inspections are being made as of 1 April, 2013 in line with the following standards.

(aa) Arrival
- 30 seconds for a Myanmar passengers and 45 seconds for a foreigner

(bb) Departure
- 45 seconds for a Myanmar passenger and a foreigner
